Reviews:

“Lynn Gardner’s “Choosing a Commentary” is a helpful tool in guiding one through the plethora of scholarly voices heard addressing the biblical text. Lynn’s insightful notes help the Bible student discern which commentaries would be the most beneficial for their particular task and context. I require all my hermeneutics classes to acquire this invaluable resource. I highly recommend that one include it in their personal library.”

Doug Aldridge, Professor of Hermeneutics and Apologetics, Ozark Christian College

“Choosing a Commentary has assessed resources that students, ministers, and missionaries have contemplated buying and has helped them filter these resources. I especially appreciate the blend of critiques from other writers. This shows balance and respect, yet without compromise. The book is fair, well researched, and indispensable for New Testament preachers. It should help leaders stretch their book budgets by limiting their wish lists to the best resources. I will highly recommend it to any library patrons who ask me for sound advice on New Testament resources.”

John Hunter, Reference Department, Seth Wilson Library, Ozark Christian College
